Deb Polson - Creative Director/Project Leader
Deb is the Creative Director and Project Leader of the MiLK development team. In this role she oversees the process of development for MiLK spanning the technical, visual, and overall conceptual aspects of the software. Deb is a Research Fellow at the Australasian CRC for Interaction Design. She lectures in interaction design at QUT and has designed interactive children’s games for over 10 years. She specialises in location-based games, having implemented several projects at various sites around Australia. Deb’s research interests lie in new immersive forms of game play, with a particular focus on the community interactions and learning outcomes that emerge from these experiences.

Colleen Morgan - Research Associate
For the MiLK project Colleen conducts research into the field of Mobile Learning in order to construct a strong conceptual foundation for the MiLK software and to collaborate with the development team to ensure the conceptual mobile learning goals of the project are realised. She is also responsible to reporting on the development process of MiLK and publishing research outcomes on this blog site and in other academic journals and conferences. Colleen works on a number of ACID projects and her research spans the areas of Community informatics, Mobile Learning, Mobile Digital Social Networks and Location Based Games. She completed her Communication Desgin Honours degree in 2006 investigating the relationships between creative ICT applications and peoples’ experiences of place-based communities.

Yang Wong - Systems Designer
Yang is the designer and developer for the front and back-end systems of the MiLK software. He is primarily responsible for ensuring the technical aspects of the software are operational and that they meet the conceptual mobile learning goals of the project. Yang designs and develops back and front-end systems for location-based products and services, with a focus on games and interactive narrative multimedia. Yang’s systems are web-enabled and intended to be used by both general public, context specific users, and content developers and designers.

Shu-min Heng - Interface Designer
Shu-Min is the visual designer for the MiLK interface. He is in charge of developing the visual aesthetic of the interface and branding of the MiLK software. He collaborates with others on the development team to ensure the interface enables the back-end systems to operate. Shu-Min specialises in developing interfaces for location-based games. His qualifications include a double degree in Communication Design and IT.

David Wallace - Systems Programmer
Dave is the system programmer of the MiLK software. He works with the development team, programming the integration of the back-end system into the user interface. In his position at ACID, Dave has worked in a variety of roles from media production to programming, often integrating several together. His qualifications include a double degree in Communication Design and IT.

Sherwin Huang - Website Developer/Development Adviser
Sherwin is the developer of this website about MiLK and is also an adviser to the development team. With his expertise in designing interfaces for digital social networks and location based games, Sherwin provides advise for the MiLK team during development workshops. Sherwin graduated with a degree in Communication Design from QUT in 2005. He is currently pursuing a Communication Design Masters by research out of which has come the interface design and conceptual architecture for Cipher Cities a web-based digital social network around the creation and playing of location based games. His main interests lie in the intersection of location based gaming and interface design.
